PRESSURE BUILDS BONE at WeMove Studio with Jennifer Groves
“A Movement Intelligence class is the same as a Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement® lesson, but with different strategies”.
SATURDAY 13th February 1-5pm
In Jennifer’s first workshop for this year, we will explore how pressure through the skeleton supports building bone resiliency. Strong bones are built by dynamic movement that elongate the spine. How can we cancel out gravity bearing down on our joints? Efficient movement that builds bone is springy and rhythmic as it streams from your feet to your head and back again. “A Domino Effect”.
Posture is a learned skill and is determined by your personal history of functional activity, beyond your opinion, social considerations or rational verbal thinking. P
osture can expand the length and width of the body; however, gravity’s constant bearing down shortens the body. How can we interrupt this degenerative cycle of wear and tear?
In this workshop you will find strategies to generate pressure from the ground forces, which in turn stimulates the circulation and vitality. Whatever age you are young or older, these basic principles of organic movement “That Nature Meant” can be learned by anyone. On the 1st Saturday of each month Jenny will present a different developmental topic.
